Dollar Tree’s Spring Initiative Harnesses the Power of Creativity and Conversation

Blogger outreach programs can be a great way to get the right people talking about your business, products or services. A successful blogger outreach program is fundamentally all about relationships…the relationship the blogger has spent time building with their readers, and the relationship your brand will build with the blogger. Why work with bloggers? Because the right blogger is also a powerful influencer. A blogger’s network of followers often view them as a go-to, trustworthy source for product recommendations and reviews, and their posts are used as research material for purchasing decisions both large and small. Working with the correct bloggers drives word-of-mouth, which in turn, equates to product awareness, brand affinity and sales. A good program offers bloggers a unique experience to interact with your brand, equips them with all the assets they’ll need to write an awesome post, and at the same time, provides them with the opportunity to give back to their network. That is a win/win situation for all involved! Our client, Dollar Tree, just completed an Easter-themed blogger outreach initiative in Austin and Jacksonville. Nineteen bloggers received boxes filled with a sampling of Dollar Tree’s spring and Easter products. All were challenged to get creative and make a special craft, decorated space or Easter basket using the supplied items and post the results to their blog. Final creations were then entered into the Dollar Tree Happier Easter contest at ILeaveHappy.com, where the public voted for their favorites. The blogger receiving the most votes received a $500 Visa gift card, and ten lucky voters also received a $50 Dollar Tree gift card. The results? Fantastic awareness for Dollar Tree, a fun challenge for bloggers, and a chance for each of our blogger’s network of followers to win too! Congratulations to the winning blogger, Shelley Schooley, blogger extraordinaire at Slightly Off Kilter, for her Spring Showers Door Décor.
