So take a break from the heat this summer and get to your favorite movie theater to watch a few! Check out some of the top summer films Morochians in our Experiential discipline are most excited about below:
ALOHA – May 29
“I’m a huge Rachel McAdams fan, and I love Hawaii. I also really enjoy looking at Bradley Cooper. Who doesn’t love a good chick flick?” – Marissa Schmitt
“I’m a chick flick kinda girl, so I am pretty excited for ALOHA. Love the cast. Rom-com with uniforms, what’s not to be excited about?” – Stefannie Garcia
LOVE & MERCY – June 5
“I’ve been waiting for this film about Brian Wilson, the genius behind one of the best albums ever made. The complexities of rock fused with a symphony, combined with lush Wall of Sound production, makes the Beach Boys’ ‘Pet Sounds’ a timeless album. I’m looking forward to seeing the story of one of rock’s most misunderstood icons told on the big screen.” – Michelle Langston
INSIDE OUT – June 19
“I think it’s one of the cleverest animated films I’ve ever seen. Pixar gives color to our emotions and reminds us that our memories are full of special places.” – Arturo Turincio
JURASSIC WORLD – June 12
“I remember watching the first one as a kid and being in awe of all the dinosaurs but so terrified of T-Rex at the same time. Regardless, I loved it!” – Ashton Thomas
“I am a big fan of adventure films, so I can’t wait to see what JURASSIC WORLD has in store.” – Sylena Nieto
“The effects look amazing and I think this will be a very exciting movie event.” – Gerald Guidry
“Who wouldn’t want to see a film starring the most awe-inspiring creatures ever to roam the Earth … even if it was 230 million years ago? I can still remember experiencing wonderment and amazement upon seeing the Brachiosaurus and a herd of Parasaurolophus as Laura Dern and Sam Neill enter Jurassic Park. JURASSIC WORLD has been teasing us with jaw-dropping trailers, has a stellar cast that includes the Star-Lord himself (Chris Pratt), a plot line that is very topical – genetics and issues with GMOs, and filmmakers with imagination and creativity.” – Marianne Mitchell
“I saw the first one and read the book several times, so I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with this one.” – Sally Smolenski
“I grew up watching the original. The next installment has been long awaited. JURASSIC WORLD has an intense plot and with Steve Spielberg producing, it should surely be the hit of the summer!” – Melissa Slattery
MAD MAX: FURY ROAD – In theaters now
“I loved the Mel Gibson films. I like Tom Hardy and am really wanting to see this one.” – Diana Allen
MAGIC MIKE XXL – July 1
“Three words….CHANNING TATUM’S ABS! Oh my my my! Ultimate girl’s night out!” – Kandace Austin
ME AND EARL AND THE DYING GIRL – June 12
“It’s not the typical summer anticipated film because it’s an indie film, but the trailer reminds me of a LARS AND THE REAL GIRL or (500) DAYS OF SUMMER.” – Jessica Martinez
MINIONS – July 10
“I loved the two DESPICABLE ME movies, so I’m just excited for more Minions!” – Divya Kumar
PIXELS – July 24
“I’m an 80s child and I played those games like crazy at the arcade and on my Atari 2600 (or an X-Box 360 for the kiddos reading this). I’m stoked to see all my pixel foes come to life in a very BIG WAY! I’m ready for a rematch, so game on, Pac-Man & Donkey Kong!” – Roderick Stoker
VACATION – July 29
“When watching National Lampoon’s original, I couldn’t help but ask myself who would ever marry Rusty. I can’t wait to find out how his life turned out!” – Cristi Sliter
WHITE GOD – In select cities now, with additional roll-out throughout summer
“A Hungarian film about a canine revolt that has been described (by Moroch intern-turned-film-critic Marshall Shaffer) as PLANET OF THE APES meets THE BIRDS…which sounds all sorts of amazing!” – Jason Price
