New Year’s Resolution Roulette

As we continue to ring in the New Year, Morochians around the office are staying true to their New Year’s Resolutions whether it’s working out, eating healthy or saving money. While we know that only 8 percent  of people are successful in achieving their resolution, one Morochian has defied all odds, sticking to his resolution for over a year through what he calls Resolution Roulette. Kent Kimberlain, Senior Broadcast Negotiator, was a smoker for 30 years.  After countless attempts at trying to quit smoking through various traditional methods, he finally decided to test a theory of his own. To distract him from smoking, Kent bought a pack of playing cards, wrote a challenge on all 52 and blindly pulled one card each week for a year. No matter what the card said—no cell phone, no TV, tip 100 percent, call grandma or tell someone “NO (something you won’t hear Kent say often)—he had to do it that week. It’s been 401 days since Kent has had a smoke and he’s hoping to make it 402. Congratulations Kent on your dedication and perseverance, and keep up Resolution Roulette in 2015!
